President Donald J. Trump today announced his intent to nominate the following individual to a key position in his Administration:

Steven Dillingham of Virginia, to be the Director of the Census at the Department of Commerce for the remainder of a five-year term expiring December 31, 2021.

Dr. Dillingham serves as Director of the Office of Strategic Information, Research, and Planning for the Peace Corps.  Previously, he served as Director of the Bureau of Justice Statistics and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics.  Dr. Dillingham also directed research and planning for the Department of Justice Trustee Program and Office of Personnel Management.  Prior to entering public service, Dr. Dillingham was the Deputy Director for the National District Attorneys Association and Administrator of the American Prosecutors Research Institute.  He earned his B.A. at Winthrop University; J.D., M.P.A., and Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina; M.B.A. from George Washington University; and LL.M. from Georgetown University.  Dr. Dillingham was a career member of the Federal Senior Executive Service and is a Senior Certified Professional with the Society for Human Resource Management.
