Today, President Donald J. Trump announced his intent to nominate the following individual to a key position in his Administration:

Christopher Miller, of Virginia, to be Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

Mr. Miller is currently the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Combating Terrorism.  In this role, Mr. Miller develops policy guidance and oversees the implementation of all Department of Defense policies, strategies, and plans related to special operations and combating terrorism.

Previously, Mr. Miller served as a Special Assistant to the President for Counterterrorism on the National Security Council.  Before that, he served as an Intelligence Oversight Official and a Sensitive Special Operations Advisor in the Office of the Secretary of Defense.  From 1984-2014, Mr. Miller served in multiple leadership roles for the United States Army Special Forces.  He has earned the Legion of Merit award and three Bronze Stars along with numerous other Joint and Army awards.

Mr. Miller has a B.A. in History from George Washington University and an M.A. in National Security Studies from the Naval War College.
