Russell T. Vought, of Virginia, to be Director of the Office of Management and Budget.
Mr. Vought has served as the Acting Director of the Office of Management and Budget since January 2019. Before serving in the Trump Administration, Mr. Vought spent nearly 20 years working on Capitol Hill and in the public policy community. During his career, he served as the Policy Director for the House Republican Conference and as the Executive Director of the Republican Study Committee (RSC). He previously served as the RSC’s Budget Director. He began his career working for Senator Phil Gramm for 4 years as a legislative assistant.
Mr. Vought graduated with a B.A. from Wheaton College and earned a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School. He and his wife, Mary, have two daughters, Margaret Ella and Porter.
Joseph Lavorgna has joined the White House as Special Assistant to the President and Chief Economist of the National Economic Council.
Mr. Lavorgna has served as Chief Economist of the Americas for Natixis and previously worked at Deutsche Bank for 20 years. He was also was a CNBC contributor.
In his new role, Mr. Lavorgna will have many roles, including studying the effects COVID-19 will have on the economy, analyzing high frequency economic data to gauge United States cyclical dynamics, and keeping National Economic Council Director Kudlow abreast of key economic and financial developments.
