President Donald J. Trump spoke today with Governor Ricardo Rosselló of Puerto Rico and with Governor Kenneth Mapp of the U.S. Virgin Islands to express his support as the territories recover from Hurricanes Irma and Maria. President Trump thanked the governors for their leadership in responding to and recovering from these catastrophic events. The President received updates on the response and recovery efforts to date, and the leaders provided their assessment of progress. President Trump pledged his Administration’s continued commitment to provide an unprecedented Federal response in helping the people of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Both governors were very appreciative and complimentary of the Administration’s effort, including the President’s leadership and the coordinated Federal response through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
