President Donald J. Trump spoke today with Administrator Brock Long of the Federal Emergency Management Agency regarding the ongoing Federal response and recovery efforts related to Hurricanes Irma and Maria in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. ​ The President received an update on the efforts to date and expressed his appreciation for Administrator Long’s continued leadership in responding to and recovering from these catastrophic events.

Administrator Long briefed the President on the progress of current response and recovery operations and provided details about the situation on the ground. The President directed Administrator Long to remain steadfast in leading the unprecedented Federal response to addressing the needs of the people of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Administrator Long reaffirmed that the full and complete support of the Federal Government is being brought to bear.
