Vice President Mike Pence met today with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto to discuss issues of importance to the bilateral relationship, particularly strong U.S.-Mexican cooperation on trade, security and immigration issues. The Vice President emphasized the importance of reaching a fair and reciprocal agreement on NAFTA very soon, and recognized Mexico for its active leadership in confronting the deteriorating situation in Venezuela. Both leaders agreed on the need to work together and with other regional partners to restore Venezuelan democracy.
