President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump welcomed Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain to the White House on June 19, 2018, culminating in the royal family’s tour across the country to celebrate over 300 years of historic and cultural ties between our two great countries.  The President and the King reaffirmed a 30-year bilateral military alliance and commitment to NATO.  The leaders also discussed strengthening economic and security ties, balancing transatlantic trade, and diversifying Europe’s sources of energy.  The President also expressed support for a strong and united Spain that leads in Europe.
