Today, President Donald J. Trump made additional disaster assistance available to the Seminole Tribe of Florida by authorizing an increase in the level of Federal funding for Public Assistance projects undertaken as a result of Hurricane Irma during the period of September 4 to October 4, 2017.

Under the President’s major disaster declaration issued for the Seminole Tribe of Florida on September 27, 2017, Federal funding was made available for Public Assistance, Hazard Mitigation, and Other Needs Assistance under the Individuals and Households Program at 75 percent Federal funding of total eligible costs.  For a period of 30 days from the start of the incident period, assistance for emergency protective measures, including direct Federal assistance, was authorized at 100 percent of the total eligible costs.

Under the President’s order today, the Federal share for Public Assistance has been increased to 90 percent of the total eligible costs except for those costs previously approved at 100 percent.
