On Friday, August 14, 2020, the President signed into law:

S. 2163, the “Commission on the Social Status of Black Men and Boys Act,” which establishes the Commission on the Social Status of Black Men and Boys to study and make recommendations to address the conditions affecting Black men and boys;

S. 3607, the “Safeguarding America’s First Responders Act,” which extends death and disability benefits under the Public Safety Officers’ Benefits Program to public safety officers who die or become injured as a result of COVID-19; and

S. 3637, which extends protections for service members in a residential or vehicle lease who are impacted by stop movement orders due to a local, national, or global emergency.
